Webflow membership plugin options compared: what each adds, how each bills and when to skip them

Membership tools for Webflow and Framer sites grouped by how they are built and billed, read from vendor and Webflow pages, with when a plugin is not needed.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-23

Quick answerWebflow no longer has a built-in membership feature, so a members area needs an outside tool. Outseta bundles logins, billing, CRM and email, Memberstack focuses on logins and payments, MemberSpace adds a script to any site, and FrameAuth is built for Framer. Pick by what else you need and how each tool counts its bill.
Outseta is likely to fit when

✓ Site owners who want logins, Stripe billing, a CRM and email in one account

✓ Agencies building members areas on Webflow or Framer for client sites

✓ Owners leaving Webflow User Accounts who need a documented replacement

✓ Sites with a small team that needs several seats in one account

Important limitations

— Sites where one shared password protects everything needed

— Owners who already run a CRM, email tool and help desk they want to keep and only need a login

— Sites that must keep sensitive files behind a server-side check rather than a browser-side gate

— Anyone who needs independent proof of vendor claims before paying

Webflow membership plugin: the options left after Webflow's own feature ended

Webflow's own member feature, called User Accounts and first named Memberships, stopped working on January 29, 2026. Webflow's help center names Outseta and Memberstack as its recommended tools for gated content and points to a directory of other options. Webflow calls these tools apps, and each one adds a script and embeds to your site rather than installing like a WordPress plugin.

This guide groups the main choices from the vendors' own pages, read on October 23, 2026. Amounts stay on those pages.

The shortlist, grouped by how each is built

  • All-in-one: Outseta. Logins, Stripe billing, gated pages, CRM, email and help desk. Plans are sized by contacts, with a payment fee of 2% down to 0%.
  • Logins and payments focus: Memberstack. Free test mode until you launch, plans sized by live members, a fee of 4% down to 0%, and email campaigns included.
  • Script for any site: MemberSpace. Paste a snippet into the header, with unlimited members, a 5% fee on Starter and 2% on Growth, and a 7-day trial.
  • Built for Framer: FrameAuth, with plans sized by users and a 0% platform fee on every plan. Outseta also lists a plugin in the Framer Marketplace.
  • Developer options: Descope and Supabase appear in Webflow's directory for passwordless login, single sign-on and database-backed accounts. Their directory descriptions list authentication and storage, not subscription billing, so they suit people who will build the rest themselves.

How each one counts the bill

Every tool above adds its own fee or plan price on top of Stripe's processing fee, so compare three units. Outseta counts contacts. Memberstack counts live members, free and paying together. MemberSpace charges by plan, with a fee percentage and limits on spaces and website connections. FrameAuth counts users. A site with many free members and few paying ones is priced very differently by each, so count your own numbers before choosing. Outseta pricing shows a cost check you can reuse for any of them.

Four criteria that decide the shortlist

  • What else do you need? A CRM, email sequences and support tools favor Outseta. If you already run those, a focused tool fits.
  • Which platform is the site on? Outseta, Memberstack and MemberSpace document Webflow, while FrameAuth is built for Framer. For Framer, Outseta and FrameAuth document it directly, and MemberSpace and Memberstack say they work with any website.
  • How will content be protected? Outseta describes its gating as JavaScript-based. Ask any vendor how a private file, not just a page, is protected.
  • How big will the list get? Plan limits and fees change at different points for each tool.

Confirm these on each vendor's page before you pay

  • Trial: Outseta states 14 days and also 7 days in its page data, Memberstack offers a free test mode until launch, MemberSpace lists 7 days and FrameAuth lists 14 days.
  • Refunds: Memberstack and Outseta both advertise a 30-day money-back guarantee on their pricing pages, while Outseta's terms say fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
  • Limits: Memberstack says it upgrades Basic and Professional accounts automatically when they reach their member limit, so ask what happens at yours.
  • Moving in: Outseta and MemberSpace both list free member migrations. Ask how you would export your members if you left.

When a plugin is a poor fit

If one shared password is enough, Webflow's pricing page lists site and page password protection as plan features. A members area earns its cost when people need their own logins, recurring payments or content that changes by plan.
